POPLAR HILL KITCHEN ADDITION

The Greenleaf team worked closely with SM&P Architects in the renovation and kitchen addition to this home in the Poplar Hill neighborhood.

The project began with the challenging task of creating a 22’ opening in the rear masonry wall of the house while supporting a slate mansard and second floor above. Our carpenters installed a steel beam to span the entire opening and constructed a new addition for the kitchen, mudroom, and pantry.

The new kitchen features modern custom cabinetry in bleached walnut and fluted island cabinetry, Marvin windows, a skylight, site-finished oak floors, a walk-in pantry, and a mudroom. The entire feature wall over the sink is clad with leathered Taj Mahal quartzite and floating quartzite shelves with embedded lighting.

The exterior of the addition features bluestone and brick steps, architectural metalwork, and matching black metal roofing and gutters. The garapa hardwood tongue and groove siding was first hand-oiled on all sides and then installed over a rainscreen by our carpenters.

The kitchen and addition really come to life at night with architectural lighting from Visual Comfort.
