PIKESVILLE MID-CENTURY MODERN

The renovation of this mid-century modern home was envisioned and designed by Place Architecture and brought to life by Greenleaf craftsmen.

The project began with major infrastructure work underneath the existing floors where new plumbing lines and HVAC ducts were channeled to run underneath the new concrete floors. We removed and reconfigured walls to create an open kitchen and dining plan, a separate mudroom, laundry room, and powder room.

The space features polished concrete floors, custom modern cabinetry, a combination of quartz and butcherblock countertops, with custom white oak woodwork throughout. The large island allows for plenty of seating, prep space and storage on all sides. Hidden doors throughout lend themselves to the sleek and minimalistic space.

Above, new skylights provide ample natural light. Additionally, the roof structure was reframed and supported by architectural steel beams and posts, becoming a focal point in the space.
