Project Details

  • Neighborhood: Federal Hill
  • Type of Work: Kitchen and Interior Renovation

In this 140 year old home a tiled and light filled atrium addition space was added to connect the traditional part of the house to a new contemporary kitchen area and powder room. The addition is supported by steel construction and helical piers which extend 15’ into the ground. Original brick exterior walls were opened up in two places and supported with structural steel to link the spaces together. The atrium addition was finished with solar powered Velux skylights, full lite glass door, original exterior doors restored by the owner, a floor warming system with tile, and accent lighting. This space flows into a kitchen featuring rosewood and contrasting laminate European style custom cabinetry, suede finished Silestone countertops with waterfall edge, and complementary glass backsplash.
