At Greenleaf Construction, our customers are the most important thing in the world to us. Here’s what some of them are saying:

We are so thrilled with how everything turned out!! We can’t thank you all enough for making this house the home that we were hoping for!!!

Martin Residence Neighborhood: Ruxton

We hired Greenleaf for a complete remodel of our home including kitchen, bathrooms, and removing walls to create an open architecture. George Brown and his team did an exceptional job, exceeding our expectations. Our project manager, Derrick, was professional, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. Casey, our lead carpenter, was meticulous, down to the last detail. We appreciated the integrity and skill demonstrated by the entire team. We also were impressed with the creativity they brought to the project and that they worked hard to keep the scope within our budget. Highly recommended!

Armstrong Residence Neighborhood: The Cloisters

Very professional job – skilled craftsmen for all aspects of the job – good communication during the job on status and any issues that arose.

We at Hunt Valley Tile & Stone have had the pleasure of working with Greenleaf Construction since 2008. We have seen the company grow to the level of commitment to its clients and projects that it now achieves. The staff at Greenleaf are true craftsmen in the industry and dedicated to detail. I myself have been able to view a few projects in person and have been quite impressed. Keep up the great work!!

Hunt Valley Stone & Tile

Great relationship with this builder through their charitable work with Second Chance Inc. Always professional and courteous. We thank them so much for their support of our local nonprofit!

Professional master bathroom renovation. Great job and fair price. Stayed within budget and No extras. I would recommend George Brown to anyone.

Berman Residence Neighborhood: Lutherville

Greenleaf replaced our large, 2 story city deck with a very attractive, sturdy, composite deck. Every step was done professionally, from an initial thorough meeting with their team to plan the process with our lifestyle in mind and continued excellent work habits of the carpenters and supervisors. The site was left neat and clean each day, work commenced and was completed on schedule. I would recommend them for any home improvement project.

Martin Residence Neighborhood: Federal Hill

I have photographed Greenleaf Construction’s finished projects for several years. As a specialist for 30 years in architecture and interiors I have worked with many skilled builders in the mid-Atlantic region. The skill and pride in achievement that George Brown and his craftsmen display on every location make my work a pleasure. They are great people to work with.

I found Greenleaf Construction to be a reliable, knowledgeable, and cost-conscious roof deck construction company. They knew the best materials and had the carpentry skills to do the job the right way.

The Nyweide Residence Neighborhood: Bolton Hill

As a talented team of craftsman and builders, Greenleaf Construction bring a true professionalism and depth of knowledge to each project that they work on. Bringing them to the table for initial design conversations and cost estimating helps to keep the project buildable and on budget. You can trust the team to be considerate in their approach and maintain the design intent through and through.

From start to finish, Greenleaf was a pleasure to work with. They transformed our kitchen and dining room into a beautiful and efficient space that we enjoy every day. It’s where everyone gathers, even when there’s a fire going in the living room. We had a fixed deadline as we were having a large event and needed the work to be finished. It was. Some issues have emerged in the time since the job was completed, as happens, and Greenleaf has been attentive and responsive. I can’t recommend them enough. This job took several months, yet the time seemed to pass quickly because we liked the craftsman at our house and could see the progress almost daily. Well done and thank you, Greenleaf.

Winstead Residence Neighborhood: Keswick

We recently completed a renovation of the back wing of our home with Greenleaf, and we are thrilled with the results. The renovation process is difficult under any circumstances, especially when you are living in the house, but Randy, our lead carpenter, took very good care of us and was extremely patient even when we were frustrated. Greenleaf does meticulous work, and our designer, Marci Lief, was terrifically creative, transforming some difficult spaces into gems.

Sheff Residence Neighborhood: Roland Park

I reached out to Greenleaf for a Baltimore Rowhouse Project to complete phase two of my client’s renovation. I was extremely pleased with George and his level of professionalism. In addition, he and his crews really understand the ins and outs of old houses. I would definitely hire them again!

HD Squared Architects LLC

I cannot say enough good things about Greenleaf, George and Derrick. They were a complete pleasure to work with from start to finish. Extremely responsive, very honest and professional, and fantastic work. They kept to the schedule, and I really appreciated their input on several decisions – what was worth spending money on and where we could save costs. I was sad wen the job was over that we wouldn’t get to see them anymore! I will absolutely use them for any future renovations, and strongly recommend them without reservation.

Williamson/Travieso Residence Neighborhood: Mt. Washington

I can not say enough good things about George Brown and Greenleaf. George is an honest problem solver who carefully considers the details of every project, no matter the size, listens patiently, and is committed to an outcome that works for everyone. He sets realistic expectations and is straight forward through every phase of the project. I was particularly impressed by the way he respects and trusts his crews. The work of Greenleaf is top notch, but the experience of working with George as a person is what sets this company apart.

Sickler Residence Neighborhood: Phoenix

In any project, no matter how large (and ours was a big one — a whole-house renovation plus an addition of a screened-in porch), it is the details that not only make it successful but make it last. And the details for this project were numerous — squaring every corner, making every joint snug, placing switches and fixtures in just the right spots, installing a heavy and complicated tri-fold glass door, and, not to be underestimated, dealing with unexpected problems that arose as old walls and previous stopgap fixes from earlier years were cleared away. Throughout our project, which lasted about six months, Greenleaf’s crew and craftsmen were outstanding in their conscientious attention to detail in order to get things right. They cost a bit more than most contractors, but the resulting work is built to last, and it won’t need correcting. Their followup is also outstanding. Lead carpenter Randy Unglesbee was professional and on top of things throughout. Communication was precise, the job site was clean at the end of each workday, and they were considerate to the needs of us and our neighbors. Highly recommended.

“We are so pleased with our kitchen. It’s a delightful space. We enjoyed the journey with Greenleaf. You have a wonderful, highly professional staff.”

Seward Residence Neighborhood: Federal Hill

“We could not be happier.”

Solnes/Salenger Residence Neighborhood: Owings Mills

“As an engineer I truly appreciated Greenleaf’s attention to detail, their understanding of construction theory and their willingness to take the time to do it right. And the dog? Well, I think he is still heartbroken over the absence of the crew that was willing to throw the Frisbee for him.”

Earlbeck Residence Neighborhood: Monkton

“Greenleaf did a great job helping us add a master bath and storage into our existing footprint. We also added three new closets and some other old infrastructure spruced up. George, Derrick, and Rob exceeded all expectations on this project. We required a high-touch contractor that would communicate regularly and allow me to be an integral part of the design process. I also requested that the new construction had to fit seamlessly into our 1930s house and all trim needed to match. They did a fantastic job salvaging and reusing floor boards, doors and trim (even for a pocket door). I also appreciated their thoughtfulness and creativity when a design issue arose instead of going with a quick fix.”

Aghajanian Residence Neighborhood: Homeland

“We hired Greenleaf Construction to renovate our master bathroom. They did an incredible job and were professional in every aspect of the project from the initial organization meeting where we all sat down and set clear expectations to the cleanliness and care to our home through the fine attention to detail they gave to the project itself. We would absolutely hire Greenleaf again and have referred them to many others.”

Morton Residence Neighborhood: Mays Chapel

“We hired Greenleaf Construction for a renovation of the main floor of our circa 1900 rowhome overlooking the Inner Harbor in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore. The project included removing a closed-in catering kitchen, replacing it with a modern open kitchen, re-imagining the front living room by creating a new fireplace surround and adding built-in cabinetry, replacing the back wall of windows with folding glass wall and adding a deck to create much needed outdoor living space.

Our experience with Greenleaf was fantastic throughout our whole project team – from their owner/leader George Brown, to project manager Derrick Wettstein to lead carpenter Casey Murray. They are very talented craftsmen with extreme attention to detail; they are meticulous in every aspect of their work.

They are very transparent when it comes to estimating, budgeting, executing their work and providing detailed change orders when the inevitable challenges of renovating a 100 year-old home present themselves. During the project they run a very safe and tidy job-site, taking extra care to clean up after themselves every day. They consistently exceeded our expectations on all aspects of the job.

We would definitely hire them again for any kind of renovation or home construction project if the opportunity arises.”

Regan Residence Neighborhood: Federal Hill

“George/Greenleaf has been a regular part of our house’s life for quite some time. They have helped us to update, to repair and to bring new life to a >100 year structure. Everyone affiliated with George is respectful, professional and talented. From rehabbing a flooded basement, installing a retaining wall or reconfiguring a tricky space to accommodate new appliances — we’ve had only the most successful outcomes working with Greenleaf. That they are competitively priced and willing to work around one’s schedule are value-added qualities of the firm. Can’t recommend them highly enough.”

Joffe Residence Neighborhood: Mt. Washington

“We have had the Greenleaf team in twice- once for a rerouting of our dryer vent (no easy job given the location of the original vent and where it needed to go to be safe). They worked around our schedule and did excellent work. The second job was much more substantial, removing all of the first floor flooring, leveling the floor and replacing it. When they discovered a small damp area, they consulted with us before doing additional repair work. We also had them remove old, poorly constructed bookcases and build new ones. Everything was done wonderfully. Their craftsmen are just that. They take pride in their work and it shows. If you need quality work done right the first time, hire Greenleaf.”

Ruekberg/Dowling Residence Neighborhood: Cockeysville

“Greenleaf’s personnel were professional and sensitive to my budget. They did a great job and were pleasant during the work. I’d definitely hire them again.”

Ford Residence Neighborhood: Elkridge

“Greenleaf Construction and the owner George Brown do a wonderful job. The work they did for me was not a huge project but was very much needed exterior work to our front porch and assorted other areas. They were reliable & timely & kept in good communication with me regarding issues & the status. The end result was just what was needed! I highly recommend them.”

Brewer Residence Neighborhood: Lutherville

“Greenleaf Construction completely remodeled our kitchen last year. George Brown helped to improve the existing design drawings, and then his fine team of professionals and subcontractors did a fantastic job of removing the old kitchen, installing new duct work, cork floor, cabinets, quartz counter tops, window, and appliances, and providing us with a fantastic, functional, and beautiful kitchen. They included us in problem solving details they encountered as they went along, All of the staff were professional, courteous, interested, attentive to detail, and could not have been nicer. We highly recommend Greenleaf Construction.”

Dwyer Residence Neighborhood: Cedarcroft

“We have previously used Greenleaf Construction (installation of crown modeling in 3 bedrooms) and had an occasion to call on them again in January 2015. A couple of our kitchen cabinets had pulled away from the ceiling and we were concerned that extra weight had caused them to giveaway. Greenleaf sent a carpenter, Casey, and he immediately resolved the situation by adding support in the appropriate places. The entire job took only about 1 hour. We think very highly of Greenleaf Construction and would rate everyone we have met through this company with 5 stars. They are all polite, efficient, talented, and creative. All involved parties arrive on time, work to task, informed us of any questions or next steps, and the charges are fair. Each of the workers care about the quality of their work, whether that is the owner, the project manager, the electrician, or the carpenter.”

Mattingly/Arkell Residence Neighborhood: Canton

“Upon the recommendation of neighbors, we have hired Greenleaf Construction twice in the last four years. In 2011 George Brown and his crew helped us design a new laundry room with lots of built in storage, installed all new appliances in our kitchen and laundry room, and ran a gas line to convert our living room fireplace from wood-burning. In 2013 George oversaw the replacement of flooring throughout our 1800 sq. ft. condominium. New hardwood floors are in all rooms except the main bathroom and kitchen in which we laid beautiful cork tiles. We could not be more pleased with George and every member of his company. They are perfectionists in skill areas – i.e., corners are mitered cleanly, patches don’t show, tiles align exactly, etc. They clean up after themselves every day and do everything they can to protect your non-construction areas so you can live alongside their work zone if necessary. George and each member of his team is polite, considerate, skilled, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. We will hire Greenleaf Construction again if/when we ever have another project and we recommend them highly to anyone who asks.”

Woolston Residence Neighborhood: Canton

“Greenleaf Construction renovated our kitchen from top to bottom. We are very pleased with the final product. They were right on schedule and held to the original budget. The attention to detail and the quality craftsmanship are apparent through-out the renovation. We will be hiring them in the future for additional projects and have recommended them to many friends.”

Davis/Lehman Residence Neighborhood: Mt. Washington

“Our experience with Greenleaf Construction was excellent and even now, a year later, we continue to be impressed with the attention to detail in the design and construction. The exquisite kitchen and powder room transformed our 110 year old home, carefully blending modernity with Victorian design. In addition to the overall satisfaction with design and quality of construction, Greenleaf attended to issues that made for a smooth job. They: kept to the timetable and budget, communicated going revisions, were courteous, and kept the construction site passable in our busy city neighborhood. As family and friends gather in our home they express their delight with the stunning 3 by 8 foot granite island that is unerringly the focal point for the gathering. Equally impressive are and the deep cherry cabinets with detailed finishing and accent subway tiles,

In all, we give our highest recommendation to Greenleaf.”

Burton Residence Neighborhood: Roland Park

“This year we needed to have some general restoration and remodeling work done on our house, including replacements of exterior wall panels and removal of certain other wall panel sections to be replaced by large glass panels. We interviewed various contractors most of whom did not have a realistic approach, or simply did not seem interested in the contract work.

We came upon Greenleaf Construction who from our initial meeting displayed competence, good cooperation and confidence in handling unique situations (a modern two story home with a steel frame, concrete floors, and large and small windows). We engaged Greenleaf and in fact, the work carried out was excellent. The various tradesmen showed true craftsmanship while the job was done as swiftly as possible. Practicable solutions were found for particular difficulties and all unforeseen problems were handled with quality professionalism.

We highly recommend Greenleaf Construction and would engage them without second thought for any further restoration or remodeling work on our house.”

Markakis Residence Neighborhood: Ruxton

“Working with Greenleaf Construction was a designers dream come true! George Brown and his staff worked in tandem with me, as a designer, a custom cabinet maker and the homeowners to produce a stand out space. Their attention to detail – such as creating a pattern in a cuppola and execellent craftsmanship allows me to rank this as one of the most successful projects I have ever completed.

Pretty high praise – but well deserved on all levels. Greenleaf Construction sets the bar for quality, follow through and availabilty for both the homeowner and designer. A wonderful experience, I highly recommend Greenleaf for your home renovations.”

Patricia L. Caulfield, Designer

“I had a kitchen remodel; new cabinets, new floor, new countertops, two new appliances and new lighting (ceiling and under cabinet). After several meetings with George to accommodate my wishes and my budget, the work crew showed up on the date we agreed on and began work. They were efficient, professional and talented. I was always consulted on changes and when I asked for changes they were immediately accommodating.

After each work day they cleaned up and I was pleased with how little disruption there was during deconstruction and construction. I was always in contact with George Brown and the workmen were always willing to answer my questions and concerns. The new kitchen is beautifully done and I love it. I would highly recommend Greenleaf Construction.”

Shellhorn Residence Neighborhood: Rodgers Forge

“We interviewed several companies when it came time to renovate our master bathroom. It’s a big space, in a very old house, and it needed to have an entire new layout. We were extremely happy with their work, from start to finish, and have been thrilled with the results. They took the entire space down to the studs, and did a beautiful job building it back up. They were wonderful to work with. The entire team is really smart, considerate, knowledgeable, and (always important) even have a sense of humor. We ended up hiring them 6 months later to insulate and finish our attic, and were very happy with everything again. I would recommend them for any size job. When you trust people with your home, and you have to have them IN your home while the work is being done, it’s essential to find people you can trust and work with. Greenleaf is a wonderful company.”

Lichtenstein/Doyle Residence Neighborhood: Mt. Washington

“Our historic Bolton Hill home had an outdated and unfashionable kitchen which prompted us to plan to renovate the space. We interviewed a number of contracting firms in Baltimore and we selected Greenleaf Construction for many reasons but primarily for their sensitivity towards maintaining a historic style to the project and our home. The company’s President, George Brown brought style and innovation to our project with an emphasis on sustainable building practices. Brown’s team of experts corrected many significant structural problems ultimately creating a perfect kitchen for our family. You can expect from the Greenleaf team: professionalism, collaboration, and communication. The results, perfection.”

Marcin Residence Neighborhood: Bolton Hill

Greenleaf is exactly what you want in a contractor. They start when they say they are going to start and finish when they say they are going to finish. Quality of work is exceptional and on the three projects I have done with them, $0 cost overruns.

Carroll Residence Neighborhood: Fells Point

Greenleaf Construction provided a wonderful experience from start to finish for my bathroom remodel job in my 1920s row house. From estimating, to construction, to clean up, every step was completed thoughtfully and carefully. The estimate was accurate, and the recommended work was spot on. This company uses several key components to drive excellence, including using highly skilled artisans, instigating weekly communication meetings with the client and project manager, and directing me to source all fixtures from a professional supply company for one-stop shopping and delivery. President George Brown and his crew were able to recommend design and installation steps that made sense and proved important for the project’s success (e.g., how to place the pencil border tile in the shower area and when and where to use custom trim molding — which his carpenter milled for us with beautiful results!) George calls a bathroom a “little jewel box,” and he and his team made ours shine! I can’t remember such a satisfying experience with a contractor. Highly recommended.

As an architect, I work with many builders, and Greenleaf is among the best we’ve found for residential renovations. They’re collaborative, knowledgeable, professional, and very detail oriented. While many builders try to circumvent design to make a little extra money, Greenleaf welcomes design challenges, and works closely with the architects and owner to insure the highest level of quality throughout construction. I recommend them to all our residential renovation clients, and plan on using them for the renovation work of my own home.

Analogue

Greenleaf was hired to do a total kitchen reno (down to the studs) and to update our finished basement. From the onset I felt that George Brown was open and receptive to our “vision” yet provided open and honest feedback. The main carpenter, Chris Daniels, was great at explaining, troubleshooting (it’s a small space), communication and cleaning up at end of day!!! A great team of people and all were professional and thoughtful. Most importantly we were thrilled with the final product. Our kitchen was a small dark galley now it is open, well lit, and entirely more functional. Oh…and on budget. Would recommend these pros without reservation!

“Greenleaf has consistently gone above and beyond my expectations. I have entrusted Greenleaf to take the lead on several home improvement projects. From estimate to completion, their work is always first class. I was particularly impressed with the spectacular plan they devised to install a dual zone central air unit into my 1930’s Cape Cod style home. They were able add the units and duct work throughout the house with minimal effects on the existing layout. The house retains its original charm with the addition of year round comfort. If you are looking for a top-notch professional capable of handling projects both large and small, I recommend contacting Greenleaf.”
