Greenleaf Construction and designer Patricia Caulfield collaborated closely on this Victorian influenced kitchen and renovation. By opening up the wall between the kitchen and dining room the spaces were unified to allow for better interaction within the rooms. Running throughout the kitchen and great room in a Versailles pattern, natural stone floor tiles replaced the existing tile and hardwood for a coordinated look.
Custom cherry cabinets with a stain and glaze were highly finished in the vein of quality fine furniture. Corbels and a hood onlay were designed by Pat Caulfield and made to her specifications. A uniquely patterned backsplash from Hunt Valley Tile and Stone accented the wall behind the range, and subway tile completed the look. Stacked moldings were graced with an acanthus leaf accent that echoed the pattern on the island and mantle, visually uniting the room with repeated patterns.
